Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island connects, cultivates and engages community through the arts. We envision a vibrant, connected community engaged in discovering, exploring, and creating art, that nurtures the voices of artists of color and cultivates leaders who lift up our people. We welcome you to utilize our performing arts theatre for events and programs that are in line with our mission to connect, cultivate and engage community through the arts. At SCCRI we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, background, or interest, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and most importantly, express themselves through different mediums of art.Today, we are home to the following partner tenant arts organizations - Jordan Wellness and Adventures Center, Laotian Community Center, Providence Improv Guild, RI Black Storytellers, and RI Latino Arts . Collectively these organizations provide classes in dance, music, storytelling, improvisation, acting, playwriting, visual art installations, and live performance events. In addition, several of these organizations also provide social advocacy, cultivate cultural preservation, and support individual artists. Please see our other posts to learn more about our other spaces for popup events and programs including a community space that can seat up to 150 people, a kitchen, and multiple rooms that may serve as classrooms, rehearsal spaces, studios, and offices. *Please note that some of the spaces are not yet handicap accessible.
